Decorative insert for ceiling structures: select and install plugs for suspended ceilings
Perforated, soaring, textured, with a change of image – stretch ceilings impress with their variety and elegance. But the installation of the ceiling is not limited to the installation of the main part. It is most often decorated with masking tape around the perimeter, at the junction of the ceiling and the wall.
The stretch ceiling is fixed not on the wall itself, but on the frame fixed to it. Inserts for suspended ceilings, allow you to hide the gap between the wall and the profile. A wide selection of colors allows you to choose a masking tape to match the ceiling and make it almost invisible.
The advantages of plugs for suspended ceilings
- Easy to install. The tape is self-adhesive, therefore, even an untrained person can cope with its fastening.
- Long service life. The cap does not change its color and shape over time.
- Does not burden the design of the stretch ceiling due to its compactness.
- Universality. The tape is suitable for any ceilings, regardless of the company and the country of manufacture. A variety of colors, textures and shapes, allows you to experiment with design decisions. Also, if necessary, the tape can be painted in the required shade, which will in no way affect its functionality.
- Reasonable cost.
- Ease of use. The flexibility of the insert allows you to hide cracks and bumps even in the most inaccessible places.
- Reuse. When replacing the ceiling with a new one, you can use the same masking tape.
- Protection. The tight fit of the plug prevents dust from accumulating between the ceiling and the wall.
Varieties of inserts
The inserts covering the seam may be different. Due to the different cross-sections and the use of various materials in the manufacture, they allow you to work with ceilings of various shapes and combine it with various surfaces.
L-shaped
Or as it is also called a wall corner. It is inserted into the profile groove with light pressure. Flexible, allows you to hide bumps and gaps, mainly used in hard to reach places.
T-shaped
It is made of hard materials, mainly used on flat planes (the ceiling is combined with porcelain stoneware or tile walls).
TL-shaped
Combines the properties of the two previous ones. Most often it hides a gap in the niche under the profile.
W-shaped
Hides the fastening of two paintings in the separation profile.
Other ways to decorate the post-installation seam
A flexible plug is not the only option to hide the gap between the wall and the profile. For this, also apply:
- decorative cords made of fabric. This is a decorative element, presented in the form of a thick twisted ceiling rope, which is installed in the profile connector.
- ceiling plinth. A conventional cornice made of wood, polystyrene or polystyrene, used when installing other types of ceilings.
There are many ways to hide the post-installation clearance. The main thing is that upon completion of work, an aesthetically closed seam will be obtained, and the ceiling structure will please the eye for more than one year.
