How to combine a stretch ceiling and ceiling curtains

Ceiling curtains – those that are attached to the ceiling, and not to the wall above the window, – perfectly combined with tension ceilings of any kind (classic, multi-level, 3D, etc.). If a combination of these elements of the interior is thought out in advance, it turns out to create a beautiful effect of falling curtains from the ceiling without the visible part of their fastening.

Types of fastening of ceiling curtains

Actually, the ways of fixing the ceiling curtains are divided into two types:

  1. Mounting on the beam: the curtain rod visually will be visible because it is located on the stretch ceiling:
      • on the main ceiling, before installing the tension, marking is made on the site of the future curtain rod, after which a skeleton ceiling frame is installed;
      • by marking on the main ceiling a wooden bar is fixed, which will later touch the stretch film;
        the ceiling is stretched;
      • curtain cornice is screwed with screws to this wooden bar THROTTLE PVC film. Holes for screws in the film are not cut, but burned and reinforced with polymer rings to avoid tears and creeping of the material.

    The cornice is attached, you can hang curtains.

  2. The second way – allows you to create an “invisible” curtains and the same effect of falling tulles from the ceiling:
    • in the right place directly to the main ceiling is attached a curtain rail;
    • parallel to the cornice, with an indentation of several millimeters, a wooden bar is fastened;
    • stretch ceiling is installed along the perimeter of the room on three sides and a bar, in front of the installed curtain rail, with a fourth.

    As a result, the fastening of curtains is hidden in the niche between the wall and the wooden beam and nothing catches the eye with technical moments.

Both methods are fairly simple to perform, but they require appropriate skills and experience in working with polyvinyl chloride film. Therefore, we advise you not to take risks in trying to do it yourself and turn to professionals. Since without the relevant experience there is a danger of simply ruining the ceiling panel, after which only a new installation is possible.
